Adult Dinghy Sailing

Women on Water (WoW) is a great opportunity for women to get out on the water developing confidence and skills sailing dinghies and developing powerboating skills.

We meet on Tuesdays at Lobster Quay in the evening at 18:00. Our aim is to get out on the water in a friendly enjoyable, no pressure environment, sailing dinghies with ample safety cover. We are a mixed ability group, from total beginner to round the world sailors. Our common aim, is to encourage and help each other on the water, whilst also having a giggle and gossip. Members sail in their own boats and we have use of the club dinghies.

Friday Morning Adult Sailing

A small group of adult dinghy sailors meet on Friday mornings at 9.30am in Lobster Quay to go out sailing with Club RHIBs for company.  Some are WoW participants, and others are just sailors keen to get out on the water.

Single Handed Training

This year we are pleased to offer the opportunity for adult members to learn to sail a single-handed dinghy within a group of other adults.  Adult Dinghy Sailing are holding three adult beginner sessions, where you will learn the basics of rigging and sailing a Pico in a safe sheltered environment, with qualified RYA coaches.  You will need your own buoyancy aid, an eagerness to learn and the expectation that you may get a bit damp.  Sessions will run for four hours starting in Lobster Quay at 9.30am.  There are only 10 places on each course so please ensure if you commit you can attend.

Booking

All sessions above are prebook only (you can’t just rock up as we used to do) because we can only take 10 boats per session. For further information or to book a place on any of these sessions please contact Charlotte Varney adultdinghy@warsashsc.org.uk
